Dr. Dorothy Whitehead is President and CEO of Reflective Image Counseling and Consulting Services, Inc., a community-based organization offering clinical counseling and vocational support services to help individuals and families heal and move forward. Dr. Whitehead is a Certified Mindfulness-Informed Professional, and her practice provides training and consultation services to public and private agencies, including customized seminars and workshops.

A native-born Marylander, Dr. Whitehead earned her PhD. in Counseling and Counselor Education from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master of Science Degree in Adult Education and Rehabilitation Counseling from Coppin State University.

Prior to starting her business, Dr. Whitehead enjoyed a successful career with a diverse background in human services. She served as a direct service provider and supervisor with several human services agencies; she also held leadership positions with various Departments in State Government.

Being well known and highly respected in the local and national human services and counseling profession, Dr. Whitehead has been called upon to serve on policy committees, work with special target population groups, train and mentor other counselors and human service personnel, and consult with administrations and community agencies about mental health issues and resources.

Dr. Whitehead has held adjunct and full-time faculty positions at local colleges and universities. She has been affiliated with several professional organizations, including the American Counseling Association, The National Council on Family Relations, the National Rehabilitation Association, the National Association for Multicultural Rehabilitation Concerns, the Commission on Rehabilitation Counseling, and the Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors of Maryland.

Dr. Whitehead stays current with continuing education studies and is knowledgeable about current treatment modalities and best practices. As President of Reflective Image Counseling and Consulting Services, Dr. Whitehead aims to provide excellent service and promote consumer empowerment. She is committed to multicultural competency and sound business practices, exercising efficiency and accountability to individuals, families, and agencies.
